Sculptural complex "Manas"

By decision of UNESCO, 1995 was declared the year of “Manas”. It was this year that the epic turned 1000 years old. In honor of this significant event, the first national ethnocultural complex “Manas-Aiyly” was founded. Depicts the legendary hero riding his magical horse Ak-Kula. Nearby are statues of his wife Kanykei and the sage Bakai. Along the square are busts of some of the 20th century manaschi, carved from red granite.

“Manas” is an encyclopedic collection of all Kyrgyz myths, fairy tales, traditions, brought to one time and grouped around one person - the hero Manas. Manas is the embodiment of national unity, a mighty and brave warrior, a wise ruler, a tireless fighter for the freedom and independence of his people. With just his appearance, Manas instills fear in the enemy and puts countless hordes to flight. No wonder the Manaschi call him a lion, tiger, leopard, or wolf. The main goal of the hero is to unite the tribes to fight the invaders and establish a peaceful life. His friends and associates help him in this - Almambet, Bakai, Koshoy and many others. Manas cannot do without its legendary horse Ak-Kul and majestic weapons.
